The committee of the Three Counties Cider & Perry Association said goodbye to two of its longest standing members at its 2019 AGM in January.
Between them Peter Mitchell of Mitchell Food & Drink and Helen Woodman of Gregg’s Pit had racked up decades on the committee. Peter had been the founding chair back when the Association was formed, and most recently served as its technical representative. The current vice-chair, Helen, meanwhile spent many years in the pivotal role of secretary.
On behalf of the association, TCCPA chair James Forbes thanked them both warmly for all they had done, presenting each with an engraved glass as a small token of the association’s appreciation. ‘Something to remind you of your time with us as you sip some of your fine cider and perry from it,’ he said.
‘The guidance and insight individuals like Peter and Helen offer is completely invaluable,’ James said. ‘The world of cider, and in particular the Three Counties, owe them a debt of gratitude.’
Other retirees included Gabe Cook, while Tom Tibbits handed over the baton of secretarial duties.
Meanwhile, the committee was bolstered with the arrival of Richard Tofts (Pershore College), Simon Day (Once Upon a Tree), Dave Matthews (Bartestree) and Rory Souter (Cotswold Cider Co). A strong addition for a strong year to come.
